The Penny Black, Victoria

The Penny Black, VIC
September 2013 - This leasehold sale provided the rare opportunity to acquire a thriving business with diverse and secure revenue streams, huge licence capacity and over 23 years remaining on the lease. Recognising that this opportunity would attract a wide range of buyers, we recommended a public national Expressions of Interest (EOI) campaign.

A tightly fought bidding process ensued creating significant competitive tension, resulting in a transaction prior to EOI close. We generated extensive interest by highlighting the asset’s investment and operational qualities. Our vast network together with the ability to get in front of key decision-makers delivered an excellent outcome for our client.

We considered numerous options in numerous locations throughout South East Queensland but ultimately closed this deal late on a Saturday night after disregarding many other assets. Our client was pragmatic and remained focused on commercial outcomes and didn’t sweat the small stuff – the perfect investor mind-set. In the end our client has secured a great result and a worthy addition to his growing portfolio.
