Tyndall Investments leases top ‘sky-rise’ floor of 420 George

SYDNEY,  22 JUNE 2011 – Fund management company, Tyndall Investments has signed a six year lease to relocate its Sydney corporate office to the top floor of 420 George Street, co-owned by Fortius Fund Management and Lend Lease’s APPFC.

Tyndall will take the entire top floor of 1,220 square metres to showcase its operations in Australia.   Tyndall recently announced expansion plans in Australia, following acquisition of the company by leading Asian asset manager Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd.

Managing Director of Tyndall Investments, Craig Hobart said the move to 420 George Street would support the firm’s new and expanding business direction.

“The top floor suite of 420 George gives us the ideal platform to showcase our business in Australia.  We plan to use the fit out of the floor, including the sky windows, to create an office space that will be provide a point of difference to our clients.

“The 5 Star Green Star v2 Design credentials of the building and the overall design of the development were deciding factors in our decision to move our Sydney office space,” said Mr Hobart.

“The building has attracted tenants who are leaders in their field,” said Fortius Funds Management’s Sam Sproats.

“State Street Corporation is a world-class financial services company, AECOM is a Fortune 500 company and one of the most respected professional technical services providers in the world, Virgin Active Health Club is a high profile, world class and well respected brand, Jones Lang LaSalle is one of the world’s largest commercial real estate companies and now Tyndall Investments joins these blue chip tenants as a leading Asian asset manager with a strong Australian base and operation.

“Attracting high calibre and major tenants of this nature is a testament to the building and its sustainability credentials, large efficient floor plates and ideal location in the heart of Sydney’s CBD,” said Mr Sproats.

The Tyndall lease was negotiated by Chris Gilbert from Jones Lang LaSalle, representing the owners.

Director, Project Leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle, Chris Gilbert said, "Only 4 floors are now available, following the signing of the Tyndall lease and the recent agreement reached with Jones Lang LaSalle to lease 3 floors in the building. Current strong interest in the remaining space is expected to result in a full tenancy schedule in the near term.”

Tyndall Investments will relocate its 58 staff in Sydney to 420 George in August this year.
