Health Check for Docklands

850 Collins Street, Docklands

MELBOURNE, 10 October 2012 – Food precincts and new builds are in high demand for retailers and Docklands is leading the charge.

The proof is in the pudding at 850 Collins Street with over 70% leased before construction is even complete. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Director of Retail Leasing, Jaycen Willox has recently signed four new tenants within the retail precinct on the ground floor of the brand new 5 Star Green Star rated building, consisting of over 16,000sqm of office space.

Victoria Harbour Medical Centre, O’Bento Sushi Bar, Double Gauge Cafe and a Vietnamese restaurant have snapped up the respective 465sqm, 100sqm, 290sqm and 100sqm tenancies, located in the commercial precinct of Victoria Harbour opposite Woolworths Supermarket, with frontages to Collins and Merchant Streets.

Mr Willox said, “The strength of the Docklands market appeal is due to the lack of quality retail opportunities in Melbourne’s CBD.

“With the CBD tightening up retailers are looking to Docklands given it is now home to some of Australia’s largest corporates,” Mr Willox added.

Only three retail tenancies remain at 850 Collins Street, with areas ranging from 100-125sqm, available from November 2012.
