Last remaining parcel of residential development land in Franklin up for sale

Land Development Agency appoints Jones Lang LaSalle to manage auction

ACT, 13 May 2009 – The ACT Government’s Land Development Agency (LDA), has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to auction 21 residential blocks in Park Front, part of the Franklin Residential Estate on Tuesday 26 May 2009.

The 21 residential blocks, which are all ready to be built on now, will be sold in groups of two or three blocks per lot, making up ten lots for sale in total. The total combined land area of the sites is approximately 11,317 sqm.

Located approximately three kilometres to the south east of Gungahlin Town Centre and close to Harrison School, Franklin is a suburb now taking shape with a great deal of homes constructed and more new homes being built.  The estate is a highly sought after location, popular for its well developed community atmosphere and family-friendly surrounds including parkland, playgrounds, walkways and bicycle paths.

Andrew Balzanelli and David Toner from Jones Lang LaSalle are managing the sale.

Mr Balzanelli, Managing Director, ACT for Jones Lang LaSalle, said, “We are already experiencing  strong levels of interest in these lots for sale, given the Park Front site is the last parcel of land within the precinct to be released. The Franklin Residential Estate is popular with ACT families in particular, given the well planned suburb and its close proximity to the town centre, Harrison school and its community atmosphere.

“Demand for new homes in Canberra, and particularly in this area of south Gungahlin, remains strong, so this land release will no doubt generate a lot of enquiries,” he said.
