AUSTRALIA, 6 JULY 2009 – Leading diversified financial services organisation, Suncorp Group, has today commenced a partnership with global commercial property services firm, Jones Lang LaSalle, to help manage its Australian commercial, industrial and retail portfolio, at a total size of over 350,000 sqm.
Under the partnering agreement, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide Suncorp with Integrated Corporate Real Estate services, such as facilities management, property transactions and real estate management, in addition to property and workplace management.
As part of this service, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide Suncorp with a common real estate technology platform for all its properties, while also providing integrated portfolio management teams co-located with Suncorp’s Real Estate team to provide a seamless ‘one-team’ approach to supporting day-to-day operations.
Jones Lang LaSalle will also provide its unique technology platform, OneView by Jones Lang LaSalle. This includes enabling the provision of help-desk services to Suncorp, to answer and action property management requests and queries.
Peter Affleck, Suncorp’s Executive General Manager of Real Estate, said that the decision to partner with Jones Lang LaSalle was an important part of a strategic plan to maximise the commercial advantage of the Group’s property portfolio.
“We saw an opportunity to deliver a world-class strategic partnership that maximised operational, technology and business efficiencies across Suncorp’s real estate portfolio by integrating all services under one provider,” Mr Affleck said.
“Following an intensive review and selection process, we have chosen to partner with Jones Lang LaSalle as they demonstrated the local and regional know how that we required to help us get the best from our real estate portfolio, while also having the capacity and experience to apply global best practice.”
“An important part of the process was ensuring good cultural fit with our partner, and we definitely feel we’ve found that in Jones Lang LaSalle.”
The Head of Jones Lang LaSalle in Australia, Stephen Conry said the contract cemented the firm’s position in the Asia Pacific market as the only service provider that combines facilities management, transactional expertise and true interconnectivity of a national, regional and global firm for clients.
“We’re delighted to have Suncorp join our list of major financial services clients in Australia, in a business partnership that will take us well into the next decade.
“Jones Lang LaSalle’s global Banking Industry Group provides specialist advice to the financial services sector and this long-term agreement allows us to provide our services to Suncorp in a fully integrated fashion.
“Our global knowledge and experience with financial services clients puts us in a great position to be able to offer Suncorp quality research and development capabilities from a global level.
“This allows us to take technology innovation that is developed globally and apply that expertise locally,” Mr Conry said.
