Jones Lang LaSalle wins national Woolworths shopping centre portfolio

SYDNEY, 17 FEBRUARY 2009 - Global commercial property services firm Jones Lang LaSalle has won the national management and leasing appointment for over 20 shopping centres owned by Woolworths Ltd.

The appointment will take Jones Lang LaSalle’s total portfolio of shopping centres under management to over 100.

Jones Lang LaSalle was selected from among seven candidates following a competitive tender conducted over the previous six months.

Tony Doherty, Head of Retail for Jones Lang LaSalle said the appointment was significant and reinforced Jones Lang LaSalle’s leading position in the retail sector.

“This demonstrates the strength of our firm’s specialised retail capability, in that we are able to offer a national owner, such as Woolworths, the combined benefits of our local business and national coordination services,” Mr Doherty said.

Under the agreement Jones Lang LaSalle will manage Woolworths’ centres nationally, including those in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.  Services provided will include portfolio management, finance and marketing, operations and leasing.

“We look forward to working with Woolworths to further enhance the performance of this substantial portfolio of shopping centres,” Mr Doherty said.
