David Lyons has worked for Jones Lang LaSalle for 12 years in the Sydney office and has more than 35 years experience in the property industry

SYDNEY, 6 OCTOBER 2009 – After a twelve year career in the Sydney office of Jones Lang LaSalle, Regional Director David Lyons has been appointed to a senior leadership role as Country Head in Vietnam.

Mr Lyons is currently the National Head of Metropolitan and Regional Sales in the Australian business.  He will relocate to the Ho Chi Minh City office of Jones Lang LaSalle to take up his new position on 1 January, 2010.

Australian Head of Capital Markets, John Talbot said, “David has 35 years experience in the Australian property industry that he will bring to the new role, in a market where Jones Lang LaSalle has a growing presence.

“His wealth of experience will be an advantage for Jones Lang LaSalle as the Vietnam property market experiences further growth and maturity.

“David has played a leading role in the Metropolitan and Regional Markets team in his 12 years at Jones Lang LaSalle.  He has been a driving force on the advantages of using the auction process for sales transactions and has brought to the firm an in-depth knowledge in this area, developed from his 35 years in both the residential and commercial property industry.

“He was instrumental in the development of a regular program of Auction sales in Sydney and led the successful campaign of sale and leasebacks for Westpac, St George Bank and ANZ Bank portfolios,” Mr Talbot said.

Speaking on the appointment, Mr Lyons said he looked forward to the new challenge of working in the Vietnam property market.

“I have spent a large part of my career at Jones Lang LaSalle in the Sydney office and look forward to expanding the experience and skills I have gained in Australia, one of the most mature property markets in the region, and applying those to the wider Asian market,” Mr Lyons said.
