Surrey Hills market heating up

Global IT firm commits to 5 year lease in Melbourne's east

Melbourne’s Surrey Hills market continues to heat up with fortune 100 IT firm, Ingram Micro relocating its Melbourne headquarters from Abbotsford to brand new office space at 917 Riversdale Road.

The world’s largest wholesale technology distributor and global leader in IT supply-chain, mobile device lifecycle services and logistics solutions has leased 500 square metres and 16 car spaces, at a rate of $280 per square metre net with carparking struck at $160 per bay per month.

JLL’s Director, Office Leasing, Joshua Tebb brokered the 5 year deal on behalf of GDM Constructions.

Mr Tebb said, “We have seen a spike in activity in the Surrey Hills market and this is the second major deal within the building in the space of two months.

“We are finding that major inner city corporate tenants are cost focused at the moment, and as a result are looking for more affordable office space in locations slightly further out.

“In the case of 917 Riversdale Road, which is located 2 kilometres east of Camberwell Road, both ACS and Ingram Micro were able to secure a brand new premises in a green credentialed building at a reduction in their overall occupancy costs.”

Located approximately 14 kilometres east of Melbourne’s CBD and 2 kilometres east of Camberwell Junction, 917 Riversdale Road is also home to Australia’s leading natural health brand, Blackmores’ Victorian headquarters and ACS Financial, who relocated to the building in February this year.
