Tabcorp to move its Sydney headquarters to CBD

Leading Australian gambling entertainment company, Tabcorp Holdings Limited, today announced that it will move its Sydney headquarters to 680 George Street in late 2014.

The move will take Tabcorp into a landmark building in the Sydney CBD centre, providing modern design elements and better technology. 680 George Street is a prime-grade tower within five minutes’ walk of Town Hall and Central railway stations, and is located within World Square Centre which offers over 100 specialty shops, boutiques and eateries.

Tabcorp Chief Financial Officer Damien Johnston said: “Tabcorp has been evaluating its property footprint as part of a broader, group-wide productivity project.

“The NSW TAB has been based at Harris Street, Ultimo for almost 50 years and Tabcorp also has a second Sydney office at Rosebery. Both sites’ leases are due to expire, making it an opportune time to move.

“We are consolidating to a better-quality building at 680 George St, with a more efficient fit-out that can accommodate modern working practices. This will reduce our environmental footprint, lower Tabcorp’s occupancy expenses and improve the working environment for our team.”

JLL’s Corporate Solutions team advised on Tabcorp’s relocation. JLL Regional Director for Corporate Solutions, Gavin Martin said: “We identified an opportunity for Tabcorp to take advantage of current market conditions and improve its workplace for its staff.

“Tabcorp is a 24-hour operation so it was ideal for the company to sit within the World Square complex and have access to all of the retail, supermarket, parking and public transport options this entails. By consolidating the two sites, Tabcorp was able to upgrade its premises while still achieving greater efficiencies.”
