Jones Lang LaSalle named Number One Retail Sales Agency in Australia and Number One Hotels Sales Agency

RICS Awards for commercial asset classes recognises greatest number of sales and highest dollar value of sales in Australia

SYDNEY, 17 MAY 2010 – Jones Lang LaSalle and Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels has taken out two of the four RICS awards for commercial property asset classes – being rated as the Number 1 Retail Sales Agency in Australia and Number 1 Hotels Sales Agency in Australia for 2009.
The annual awards of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) recognise commercial agencies which have transacted the greatest number of sales and dollar value of sales over $5m in Australia and New Zealand, which were settled in 2009.
Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail Investments sold more than
$1.3bn of retail property in 2009 with an estimated 80% market share. The highlights include the five largest agency transacted retail asset sales of the year including; the 50% interest in Westfield Whitford City in WA for AUD256.5 million, David Jones Perth AUD114.5 million, Floreat Forum in WA AUD100 million, Golden Grove in SA for AUD100 million and Ingle Farm in SA for AUD82 million.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels sold a total of 46 accommodation hotels and pubs in Australia in 2009, totalling more than $815 million.
