Molonglo Valley’s first commercial precinct piques interest of medical and fitness operators

JLL receives substantial interest about 8,844 sqm Coombs site through Expressions of Interest campaign


Medical and fitness service providers have expressed interest in establishing a presence in the first commercial precinct within Molonglo Valley's Coombs, as development of the ACT's newest region continues.

JLL has received interest from medical and gym operators about the lease of Block 1, Section 17 in the Molonglo Valley suburb of Coombs. JLL's Aaron Green and Nathan Dunn are currently offering the lease of the 8,844 sqm site through expressions of interest, which are closing at 4pm next Friday 29 May 2015.

The site - located on the corner of Woodberry Avenue and Madgwick Street - is permitted for multiple uses including a health or emergency facility, indoor or outdoor recreational facility, educational establishment, office or place of worship. The future tenant will be situated in close proximity to a 150-place childcare facility, and back onto the ACT Government's new primary school, capable of educating 712 children, both of which are due for completion in 2016.

Mr Green, Senior Sales & Leasing Executive - ACT, said, "We have received substantial interest from medical and gym operators who are wishing to complement the planned neighbouring new school and childcare facility. The site provides a unique opportunity for established operators and new entrants to increase their exposure in this evolving precinct, and cement a presence in Molonglo Valley's first commercial sector. We are hoping to receive some promising expressions of interest prior to the closing date."

Coombs is located on the eastern side of Molonglo Valley's new arterial road, John Gorton Drive. It will be home to the region's first community hub with local shops, a public school, community facility and mixed use developments planned for the suburb. Molonglo Valley is Canberra's newest region with development set to happen over a number of years. It is located between Weston Creek and Belconnen. It is approximately 10 kilometres south west of the CBD.
