Alpha parks in bigger space as business grows

Local Queensland car parking, car hire and car finance business Alpha, known for its distinctive purple branding, has expanded its Brisbane Airport operations in a lease deal negotiated by JLL Industrial Directors Brendan Delahunty and Gary Hyland.

Alpha will relocate to a 2.2ha site at 511 Nudgee Road, formerly also an airport car parking business. The site features 6,624sqm of warehouse and office space.

“The multi-million dollar lease over five years represented the perfect option for Alpha, a very proactive business looking to expand, and take their business closer to the Brisbane Airport. Located on the corner of Nudgee Road and Airport Drive the property provides Alpha outstanding exposure to passing traffic,” said Mr Delahunty.

He said it was the ability to act quickly which enabled Alpha to secure the site.

“We were made aware of the property’s possible availability and Alpha was quick to act to secure the site. As the business undertakes the transition process commuters will see a fairly bland cream colour corner turn purple in coming days,” he said.

Nigel Sellars, Alpha’s Group General Manager said the group had waited until the right site was found before making the move.

“We’ve seen significant business growth year on year with consumers looking to save on travel costs, but not wanting to compromise on service. When this site became available we saw it as an ideal opportunity to invest in our infrastructure and ensure that we can expand the support for our loyal and expanding customer base.”

“With an operation, that from an outside perspective seems to border on a game of Tetris, both the car parking and car hire team are adept at moving the significant number of vehicles per day and now with 2.5 times more capacity at Nudgee Road, they are about to celebrate servicing their 1 millionth customer,” he said.  “It’s exciting times as we begin a new era for the business.”

Alpha’s new Owner/Manager Andrew Bell is a specialist in the local Queensland industry and will lead the team.
