Australia Renewed Activity in the Sub-regional Market December 2014


Sub-regional shopping centres have been the most highly traded format in 2013 and 2014. We explore some of the key factors affecting this cohort of the retail market in light of the heightened level of investment activity. Changes in consumer spending habits over the past five years have had direct implications for tenancy mix and the amount of floor space dedicated to different retail categories since 2008. The investment market dynamics, and changing occupier trends, have contributed to an increase in redevelopment activity.
