JLL wins five awards in RICS Australia Commercial Property Awards

JLL Australia has taken out five awards of the 14 that were presented at the annual RICS Awards.  

The annual awards of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) recognise the commercial property sector and professionals within the land, property, construction and infrastructure industries. Fourteen awards, acknowledging success by individual and project teams, were presented this year at an awards ceremony in Melbourne on Thursday 6 June.

The JLL awards and categories were:

• Corporate Advisory Team of the Year 2019. This is the second year running that JLL’s Tenant Representation team have won this category.
• Project Management & Building Consultancy Team of the Year 2019 – JLL’s Project & Development Services Defence team
• Valuation Team of the Year 2019 – JLL’s Public Sector Valuations team
• Construction Professional of the Year – Michael MacCulloch
• Young Achiever of the Year – Patrick Burke

JLL’s Head of Project and Development Services - Australia, Scott McCrossin said, “JLL’s Project Management division was recognised in 3 of the awards, which is a great honour for our entire team across Australia.

“Michael MacCulloch and Patrick Burke were both recognised with individual achievement awards amongst their peers nationally.  We couldn’t be prouder of both of them for the hard work and dedication they bring to the work they do at JLL.

“At a team level, it was a great honour for our Defence team to be named as team of the year for 2019.  Our teams across Australia spend their working days delivering great projects for our clients and to be recognised by a prestigious RICS award is a credit to the work we are doing,” said Mr McCrossin.

JLL’s Project & Development Services team across Australia grew substantially last year by 40% and continues to work in the government sector on a number of major contracts.  The business has also increased its large hotel, industrial and commercial projects throughout Australia.

JLL’s Managing Director, Advisory and Consulting - Australia, John Talbot said the recognition for JLL’s Public Sector valuations team demonstrated the impact this new team has had within the business following JLL’s expansion into the public sector valuations space.

“JLL expanded its footprint into public sector valuations in early 2017, acquiring a business made up of valuation professionals specialising in property, plant and machinery and institutional heritage and cultural valuations.  This team, led by Ty Noble, had long careers with the Australian Valuation Office and under his leadership at JLL have been recognised nationally by RICS.

“We have been expanding our specialist valuation teams across Australia in a clear strategy to grow our Valuations and Advisory business and this award by RICS is great recognition of the outstanding work our teams are delivering for our clients,” said Mr Talbot.
