The impacts of COVID-19 ranged greatly across the different sub-sectors. Neighbourhood centres proved to be resilient, whilst discount department store performance surprised on the upside - for sub-regional centres. All major CBD markets were affected by the impacts of the pandemic, but the sharp reduction in daily visitor numbers is gradually showing signs of recovery.

JLL manages a portfolio of approximately 300 shopping centres nationally. The portfolio comprises predominantly of sub-regional, neighbourhood and CBD assets. The report provides an insight into Centre Manager experiences during the pandemic, and the outlook for shopping centres over the next 12 months.
