Jade Richardson

I found myself at a standstill in my career after working for a family owned commercial real estate company in Toowoomba for five years, the decision to move to Brisbane and accept a role as an EA within the Capital Markets team provided me with a magnitude of opportunity. Having never worked in corporate before, I was pleasantly surprised, not only was the office fit out amazing, but the team and environment was supportive, flexible and approachable. A major stand out for me was the push for career progression, from the very start our managing director placed an important emphasis on JLL supporting employees and encouraging us to be honest and to strive for opportunity within the business. I didn’t see myself as an EA forever, and through encouragement from my Manager and HR, I explored opportunity within the business and found my passion in Project Management.

My role as Cadet Project Manager has been nothing but exciting, I feel achieved, passionate about the work and excited about my future. I am working on Department of Human Services account, upgrading a number of offices throughout Queensland. It’s great to have the opportunity to develop relationships with key stakeholders within the construction industry, my favourite part of my role is going out on-site and learning from the best & wearing hi-vis and owning it! I have daily conversations with architects, engineers, builders, electrical and mechanical trades, this in itself has exposed me to a new environment to develop new skills.

My main passions outside of work is all-things watersports, the outdoors, yoga,  travel and food/cooking. As often as possible I go waterskiing, recently, I had some coaching at a facility in the Sunshine Coast (image below), being on the water is something that brings me joy and it’s a great day out with friends and family! Along with skiing, I aim to get outdoors as much as possible, whether that’s hiking, camping or visiting my sister who recently purchased 20 acres in NSW Hinterland.

At the end of the year I am travelling to Vietnam for 12 days, we are planning to visit Ho Chi Minh, Ha Long Bay and Hoi Ann, this will be the first trip where I haven’t pre booked any accommodation or events, we decided to travel differently so we have opportunity to experience more of the culture!
