Delivering rail-led urban regeneration
We lay the groundwork for redevelopment opportunities on the back of Cross River Rail
We continue to leverage our long history at the forefront of complex urban renewal projects.
The A$5.4 billion Cross River Rail is a city-shaping project in Brisbane that will deliver a new north-south rail connection across the Brisbane River.
Incorporating 10.2 km of rail between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, including 5.9 km of twin tunnels beneath the Brisbane River and Brisbane city centre, the facility is expected to significantly increase public transport capacity across south-east Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority has engaged our Strategic Consulting team to provide real estate advice on this project, specifically relating to landholdings around high-capacity railway stations Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.
To date we have provided detailed market analysis and initial project feasibility; engaged with the market on development concepts; identified potential building uses and occupier categories; and advised on real estate transaction structures.
Further input ranges from market overviews, developing initial renewal concepts, masterplanning, and recommending optimal land uses over the short and long term.
We continue to provide this advice, leveraging our long history at the forefront of complex urban renewal projects, as well as our vast internal network of real estate specialists.
The Queensland government has committed to fully funding Cross River Rail, and has engaged partners to deliver the tunnels, stations and select development opportunities.
The first trains are expected to run by 2025.
