About Sushi Sushi

1998 Sushi Sushi revolutionised the way Australians ate sushi, taking it from what was mainly a high-end Japanese restaurant cuisine, to a fresh and healthy on-the-go meal, readily accessible through stores in shopping centres and high streets across the country.

The very first store in Box Hill, Victoria is busier than ever today, over 20 years after it opened, along with our other 140+ stores which have cemented Sushi Sushi as Australia’s favourite sushi brand.

The challenge

The site that Sushi Sushi were in at 4-8 Ricketts Road, Mt Waverley was too big for them and the business was not utilising the entire property, therefore downsizing was the most suitable option.

Scott Meneilly, CEO of Sushi Sushi said that “Our time frame was the most critical in this situation as we already provided notice to the Landlord, therefore we needed to ensure we could find two new sites suitable for both workplace and warehouse operations within the timeframe” all of which included, signing leases, handover, designing and building a new fitout and moving IT equipment.

Aside from creating an engaging and productive workplace, Sushi Sushi also needed an office space that was easily accessible and in a convenient location within close proximity to their new warehouse space.

Result

Our Leasing Associate, Tim Sugar worked with internal specialists and the broader team to find and secure two suitable Office and Warehouse locations that reflected Sushi Sushi’s vision and operational strategy.

By proactively streamlining the process for Sushi Sushi, it helped them secure the best possible deal, securing two 10 year property leases, eliminating the need to engage a Tenant Representative or deal with the Landlord directly.
