Project Description

A circa 180 kilometre augmentation of the existing 220kV transmission network in central northern Tasmania to provide additional transfer capacity to export renewable energy to Victoria via the proposed Marinus Link undersea cable.

The new transmission lines comprise a mix of duplication, replacement, and greenfield developments through some of Tasmania’s most fertile grazing and intensive cultivation country.

Key Services Provided

The JLL project team is providing a turn-key land access, land acquisition and compensation service to Tasnetworks:

  • Provision of land access and land acquisition strategy and implementation plan
  • Developing respectful, genuine relationships with private landowners
  • Understanding their property operations, explaining the project and its likely impacts and identifying measures to mitigate those impacts
  • Managing all third-party access requests in accordance with agreed land access rules, including attendance while activities are underway
  • Preparation of compensation budgets and Assessments of Compensation
  • Negotiation of all land agreements including Access Licences and Options for Easement
  • Engagement, consultation, and negotiation with third party advisors including lawyers, valuers, and accountants
  • Preparation of Construction Line List document
