Bellevue Station sold: QLD landholding sells above reserve price

Local farming family purchase agricultural holding in Dalby/Moonie, west of Toowoomba

Queensland, 23 April 2020 – Queensland backgrounding cattle operation, Bellevue Station in the Western Darling Downs region, has sold for $1.89 million at an online auction.

JLL Director of Agribusiness Clayton Smith and Sales Executive Tom McLellan were appointed to sell Bellevue Station, an agricultural landholding between Moonie and Dalby over 2,674 hectares, comprising of 1,000 hectares Freehold and the balance as a State Forest Land lease.

The property is currently utilised as a fattening and background cattle operation complemented by pasture and fodder production.

Mr Smith said, “Bellevue sold above the reserve price and was successfully conducted through an online auction platform. We received wide interest, which resulted in ten active inquiries and six registered bidders. Bellevue was purchased by a Dalby-based family looking to secure a mixed farming and grazing enterprise. For them the opportunity had added attraction due to its ideal position to their existing base.”

JLL’s Agribusiness team currently have a number of campaigns underway in Queensland, including Leeora Downs which has recently been placed under contract.  Currently for sale is Acacia - a mixed farming enterprise combining beef production and irrigated farming situated in the tightly-held Theodore region.
