New leadership for JLL ACT

AUSTRALIA, 2 February 2022 – After thirteen years as JLL’s ACT Managing Director, Andrew Balzanelli will step down to focus on Office Leasing and land and development sales.  JLL has announced that Tim Mutton, JLL’s current Head of Sales & Investments, will replace him as ACT Managing Director.

Mr Balzanelli, who celebrated his 30-year anniversary with JLL in 2018, will move his focus back to his role as ACT Head of Office Leasing and will take on an expanded responsibility for land and development site sales.  He will work closely with Mr Mutton on business development.

CEO of JLL Australia, Stephen Conry said, “During his 13 years as ACT Managing Director, Andrew has seen our office grow by over three-fold, to the more than 300 people JLL employs today.  He has had stewardship of expanding our Canberra office into a multi-faceted services provider including services to government, institutional owners and investors and private owners and investors.

“As JLL celebrates 50 years of business operations in Canberra in 2022, it is fitting to announce the new leadership of Tim Mutton, who will continue taking our business services to new heights.

“Tim joined JLL in 2018 as ACT Head of Sales and Investments, bringing to JLL a wealth of experience. His market expertise and client relationships in Capital Markets has been a big contributor to our business.  

“We couldn’t be happier that Tim is stepping into this new role and that Andrew will continue to play an important part of our growth strategy for JLL in Canberra and continue to lead our Office Leasing team,” said Mr Conry.

Speaking on his decision to step down from the ACT MD role, Mr Balzanelli said, “Watching the growth of our Canberra operations over the past 13 years has been a key highlight.  With our office celebrating its 50^th anniversary this year, it is a fitting time to hand over leadership to Tim to continue this growth story.  I started my career at JLL 34 years ago in Office Leasing and I look forward to continuing my focus in the sector that I have always been passionate about.”

Speaking on his new appointment, Mr Mutton said, “I’m looking forward to leading the firm into the future, using our strong global platform and more than 300 property experts in the ACT office to help clients navigate the market and shape the future of Australia’s Capital.”

Mr Mutton will continue in his role as ACT Head of Sales & Investments, in addition to his responsibility as Managing Director.  The changes take effect on 1 March 2022.
