TAFE NSW partners with JLL for management of campus infrastructure upgrades
JLL will partner with TAFE Infrastructure NSW to deliver an extensive infrastructure program for the statewide TAFE NSW Campuses
SYDNEY, 31 MAY 2024 – JLL’s Project and Development Services division in New South Wales has been awarded a government contract to oversee a $104 million extensive program of capital works at 138 TAFE campuses across the state.
The contract will involve a variety of campus upgrades and improvements focussed on enhancing the experience of TAFE NSW students and staff across the extensive campus network.
According to JLL’s NSW State Manager – Project and Development Services (PDS), Anthony Meola, “JLL PDS and TAFE Infrastructure NSW are working collaboratively to successfully deliver $104 million of asset replacements to improve facilities for TAFE NSW students across campuses throughout New South Wales. This program of works is aimed at upgrading and improving the standard of facilities and providing students with a modernised, streamlined, operational environment designed to facilitate an enhanced student experience,” said Meola.
The asset replacement program is broken into 16 works packages, covering a range of scope – from painting to flooring, upgraded heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as fire protection systems. JLL will also be managing electrical distribution board upgrades, solar replacements, and LED lighting, and ensuring consistency of design standards across all campuses. Some of the more significant works include roof replacements, lift replacements and an array of civil and general building works.
Sean McKeon, Investment Program Director – Asset Renewal Programs at TAFE Infrastructure NSW said: "It is great to partner with JLL again this year in delivery of the Asset Renewal Program. JLL’s dedicated delivery team and cutting edge reporting platforms have allowed TAFE NSW to seamlessly deliver this large program of works in a live environment within tight timeframes all whilst maintaining high levels of safety across the delivery of works."
Kristin Harris, Senior Project Manager – Project and Development Services (PDS) at JLL, said a key objective of the program is to ensure all TAFE NSW students find the campus environment welcoming, comfortable and easy to navigate in both metro and regional campus locations.
“It’s really all about improving the student experience. The replacement of critical infrastructure will lead to a more comfortable learning environment and focus on remediation to the customer facing areas to create a space students can feel secure and thrive in,” she said.
“So, while the focus is essentially on the students, we will also be looking at improving services, including things such as electrical distribution board upgrades, solar replacements and LED lighting, and ensuring consistency of design across all campuses,” said Harris.
