Shopping centre fundamentals remain surprisingly strong on the back of resilient consumer demand. Consumer spending continues to beat market expectations with over AUD 35 million is being spent a month compared with AUD 28 million a month pre-pandemic. There are early indications of a slow-down in discretionary spending, albeit from elevated levels.
