Which Australian cities are leading the charge as they adopt different regulatory approaches to achieving their own Net Zero targets?

The value of real estate is now intrinsically linked with it's energy performance and new regulation out of the City of Sydney mandating net zero buildings (office, retail and hotel) will accelerate this impact. This report assess' the current landscape and distribution of sustainable assets (NABERS rated) in JLL tracked markets and the progress each market has made to accelerate change.

It highlights which locations lead in terms of quantum of sustainable buildings and highlights opportunities to retrofit as well as risks of obsolescence. State governments have emerged as key drivers of change and we can expect to see further regulations and initiatives implemented as stakeholder understanding continues to mature and cities approach their own target dates.
